TWHS Lady Highlander Basketball Coaches:
Varsity Head Coach Trista Tatsch
This will be Coach Trista Tatsch's fourth year as the head coach for the Lady Highlanders, and her 20th year coaching here at TWHS. She is excited to get this season started. This group is ready to work and get back to the playoffs and make a run! Coach Tatsch is a 1999 graduate of Texas A&M-Kingsville with a bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Health. She loves to stay active by running whenever she has an opportunity and competing in road races when she has a chance. She even qualified and competed in the Boston Marathon at one point. She loves to travel in the summers and see every beach that she possibly can! Coach Tatsch feels absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to teach and coach here at TWHS and believes that there is nothing better than being a HIGHLANDER!!
JV Coach Ashley Davis
Coach Ashley Davis is starting her third season as part of The Lady Highlanders Basketball Program and her first season as the JV Coach. Coach Davis has participated in basketball all her life with her high school career beginning at Eisenhower High School, where she played all four years, and she continued her basketball career at Houston Baptist University from 2004-2008. Now entering her 12th year in coaching, Coach Davis believes that every season can be a successful season by simply staying the course. A love for the game and a respect for teammates will allow the Lady Highlander Program to reach even higher heights and capture amazing memories along the way!
Freshmen Red Coach Mikela Dillon
Coach Mikela Dillon is originally from Louisiana where she played basketball at Hammond High School and received a scholarship to play at Southwest Mississippi Community College while earning her Associate’s Degree. She then attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette earning a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Education.After graduation she moved to Texas, married her best friend, became a mom of two awesome children and began her teaching and coaching career. She began coaching basketball in Aldine ISD at Aldine Middle 12 years ago. Coach Dillon transitioned to High School six years ago, where she served as a Head Soccer Coach for the past four. She led her teams to three consecutive play-off appearances and helped many athletes achieve their dream of playing on the collegiate level. After a successful stint at coaching soccer, Coach Dillon is extremely excited to be back with her first love of basketball, and is proud to be a Lady Highlander!
